I’m working with poll watchers again this year and visited the two Johnston County precincts who, if memory serves, were respectively the most Republican and most Democratic in the last presidential election. Both places this morning voting seemed light but steady, i.e. no lines but no crickets chirping, either.

I did hear complaints that precincts in one township have had a rotten time finding handicap-accessible locations that were available for the election; they landed in the local fire station and a community center (the latter not even physically located in the precinct boundary). Other than an argument about placement of signs, though, I haven’t heard of any problems yet.
