Winston-Salem City Council member Molly Leight will request a resolution opposing Amendment One be added to tonight’s meeting agenda.

The council would have to vote on whether or not to add the resolution, then would have to vote on the resolution itself. Mayor Allen Joines tells the Winston-Salem Journal the council has tried “to keep our deliberations to city government and stay away from social issues, and I think that has been a fairly good practice over the years.”

Back in February the Greensboro City Council voted —-you guessed it —–8-1 to pass a resolution opposing Amendment One, with council member and Senate District 27 candidate Trudy Wade casting the lone ‘no’ vote.
