Mayor Allen Joines maintains after the Winston-Salem Alliance takes over Winston-Salem Business Inc. and the Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership, the two entities will “absolutely maintain their independence with separate boards and budgets.”
Even though it matters not to me —— I’m more than happy to see a couple of quasi-governmental organizations just go away —-I’m skeptical of the mayor’s assurances.
