From the home state of West Virginia, Del. Ron Thompson, a Democrat member of the House of Delegates, is on the way out today after failing to report to Charleston, W.Va., for the legislative session.  Since the session started last month, Thompson has been absent and has failed to answer media requests and letters. Thompson has not been seen since the end of last year’s session and missed all interim meetings. He even was absent during the campaign season and was still among those re-elected from the state’s 27th district.

When contact was finally made, a few weeks ago, Thompson claimed health reasons prevent him from taking his seat in Charleston and that he would arrive Monday. Thompson was a no show. He has not received his legislative pay since the start of the session.
