The N&O reports that the November bond referendum will ask taxpayers for $970 million. If passed, the tax increase will be 4.7 cents on $100 of assessed value or an additional $70.50 on a $150,000 home.

The Wake county commissioners passed a 3 cent tax increase by a vote of 6-1. This increase fully funds the $21.4 million requested by the school system – no questions asked.
