The Wake school board has approved its 2009 legislative agenda, as reported here by the News & Observer.

Bottom line: they want more money for this, more money for that, and more money for that thing over there. But oh, by the way, they don’t want any competition. Thus, Ron Margiotta’s motion to add the lifting of the state’s cap on charter schools to the agenda was voted down 6 to 2.

If you’re keeping score, that means six board members win, and thousands and thousands of kids lose.
