It is official now. Wake County public schools are still growing, CMS is shrinking. Much of the CMS decline can be traced to a slowing of Hispanic enrollment. CMS added 405 Hispanic students, lost 893 black students and 481 white students for a 133,664 enrollment total, well behind Wake’s 139,362.

Considering that not too long ago both systems were projected to reach 150K soon this is a dramatic turn around.
