According the address provided by the Mecklenburg County jail, convicted sexual predator Richard Lincoln, 62, lived at the Urban Ministry Center on North College St.
On Thursday evening Lincoln was arrested and charged with attempted kidnapping and robbery after police say he tried to force a woman into a car at knife-point. The attack occurred at the Sardis Rd. Super Wal-Mart.
Lincoln was thwarted by a passer-by, WCNC reports. Paul Stancil threw Lincoln to the ground and kept him there until CMPD arrived. The victim, it should be noted, resisted Lincoln’s demands that she get in the front seat of the car and drive away.
The state sex offender registry shows that Lincoln was not the only registered sex offended at the shelter. At least five other offenders are also registered to that same address. Another half-dozen on the list give the Uptown Men’s Shelter on North Tryon St. as their address.
Bonus Observation: How about the Richardsons come across with some sweet Panthers tickets for Stancil?
