I totally share Walker Lundy’s disgust with wall-to-wall TV pandervision. But Lundy otherwise misses the big picture by constructing a binary universe of news reporting. Note the omission:

The next time you feel the urge to critique the “media,” first figure out which medium. Newspapers and television news each have strengths and weaknesses.

But remember: One covers the news and occasionally panders; the other panders and occasionally covers the news.

Where’s the Internet? Lundy misses it again. That’s the medium that puts news consumers in control. You can route around pandering and bias, critique them, or wallow in it all.
