The Town of Franklin received a $36,000 grant from the NCDOT for bike and ped infrastructure. Thus far, the joint operation funded by the NCDOT Division of Bicycle and Pedestrian Transportation and the NCDOT Transportation Planning Branch has awarded $4,332,000.
I’m not knocking walking or biking, but all the time I spend on the roads, I see probably less than one percent of people in transit choosing to go on foot or bike. If this is a democracy, shouldn’t government be serving the majority, rather than adding minutes to commute times and who knows how much junk into the atmosphere by trashing straight and unobstructed automobile passages to make way for three cyclists?
