The Washington Post‘s ombudsman Andrew Alexander today scolded the paper for ignoring the New Black Panther Party voter-intimidation case, and the Obama administration’s decision to drop the case against the NBPP goons.
In fairness, though, perhaps the editors of The Washington Post were just as clueless as California Congressman Brad Sherman. After all, they all read the same media. This was Sherman’s excuse after he was scorned at a town hall meeting for not even knowing about the case:
Here’s what he gave as an excuse the next day:
He said he would soon send a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder regarding the incident and “the importance of allegations of voter intimidation,” but said the “major sources of information which I rely upon most” did not mention the issue.
So maybe the WaPo editors had the same problem. Right.
