A new study concludes that strong English is the key to immigrants? school success. Moreover, the quality of a school’s language arts program is “strongly linked” to whether they acquire English.

To be fair, I should point out that some researchers have found that immigrants’ academic success is associated with school quality, parental involvement/education, previous education, etc. Yet, I cannot imagine that any immigrant student can be successful in school without acquiring English language proficiency.

I discuss English as a second language (ESL) instruction here.
