Early publication of exit poll results on the Drudge Report has thrown the stock markets for a loop and also strongly affected the “election futures” market, especially in swing states.

For example, at 2:30 p.m., the Bid and Ask for Bush taking Florida was 56.1/59.0; at 3:30 p.m. it was 52.0/53.2. In Ohio, it was 56.8/59.0 at 2:30, and 48.0/48.5 at 3:30.

Also, at 2:30, Bush winning was at 55.1/55.2, and at 3:30 it was at 49.9/50.1.

I’m interested in seeing how the latter market adjusts; will it continue to plummet or will it restabilize? I confess I haven’t watched it closely to see how it fluctuates hour by hour. I will say that this is the largest fluctuation I’ve seen over the past couple of weeks of intermittent monitoring.
