The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a new $2.5 million visitors’ center and, among other things, entertainment by the Boogertown Gap Band. It does no good to protest these days about humongous government expenditures on fluff. It will be argued that they create jobs and wealth with deflated currency double-counted as economic multipliers.
