One additional observation. The sign thieves and sticker peelers in our neighborhood are not working randomly — they target specific candidates on given nights. For example, we have about four races we’re following closely. The first incident, the signs and stickers for the presidential race disappeared. Tuesday was senatorial night. Another day it was all the gubernatorial ads. The rest of the stuff was left where it is. The non-partisan Supreme Court race apparently holds no interest at all.
So is this coordinated somehow? I’d be interested to get on their e-mail list so I’d know which signs to bring inside.
BTW, although they take the trespassing and vandalism aspect seriously, law enforcement told me this isn’t happening all over our Johnston County town. So if it is, nobody’s reporting it.
