Climate policy is the “holy grail” for social engineers. At least that’s the argument JLF Vice President for Research and Resident Scholar Roy Cordato has made. The International Climate and Environmental Change Assessment Project, or ICECAP, and the Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation recently picked up on Cordato’s discussion of that topic. Meanwhile, Legal and Regulatory Policy Analyst Daren Bakst continues to take aim at the misguided policy prescriptions tied to concerns about climate change. WRAL Television’s “Local Tech Wire” reprinted Bakst’s recent opinion piece on the flaws associated with government-mandated energy-efficiency programs. The Heritage Foundation’s Insider Online featured Bakst’s recent Spotlight on energy-efficiency mandates. Outgoing JLF Research Intern Geoffrey Lawrence also earned media attention on the climate-policy front this week, with an opinion piece in the Baltimore Examiner that critiqued the work of the Maryland climate commission.
