The Asheville-Buncombe County League of Women Voters will host a public forum at 7 p.m., Monday, February 13, at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, 789 Merrimon Avenue. The topic will be pros and cons of having the state legislature seize Asheville’s water system and loaf it over to a regional water authority. Panelists will be Esther Manheimer (representing Asheville City Council), Chuck McGrady (representing the study subcommittee), Dr. Gene Rainey (representing Buncombe County Commissioners’ interests in 1994 when the Regional Water Authority was created), and Steve Aceto (representing the Metropolitan Sewerage District). The event is free and open to the public.
