Government can’t make more resources available, nor can it do anything (once you get past the Jeffersonian kind of minimal state) to enable people to make better use of resources. Government borrowing entails the diversion of resources away from productive uses in the private sector and into usually unproductive and even anti-productive uses that please politicians and their supporters.
