On Piers Morgan’s show last night, the uncommonly gullible Barbara Walters gave what is, by now, a most superfluous admission:

He [Obama] made so many promises. We thought that he was going to be – I shouldn’t say this at Christmastime, but – the next messiah.

(The next messiah, you know, because the only one “so far” has been such a huge disappointment.)

Readers of the Locker Room have watched this messianic fervor among the media and leftists for years. They told us that:

In making her admission, of course, Walters is defending the president. After all, “it is very difficult when the expectations for you are very high.”

Right. But Psalm 110 does not say “The LORD says to my Lord, ‘Sit and rest for a while, because it was pretty difficult to live up to that whole Messiah expectation thing.'”
