Western North Carolina residents have a chance to learn more about the U.S. Constitution on Saturday, as Michael Sanera, John Locke Foundation Director of Research and Local Government Studies, and Troy Kickler, N.C. History Project Director, take their constitutional workshop to Asheville. Meanwhile, John Hood joins Karen Palasek, JLF Director of Educational and Academic Programs, and Ashley Sherrill, E.A. Morris Program Specialist, for the first Morris Fellows retreat in Pinehurst. Speaking of leadership, the Jefferson Post published a recent column from Palasek on that topic. Becki Gray, JLF Vice President for Outreach, also hit the road this week for a FreedomWorks legislative update in Mebane. Gray returns to N.C. Spin this weekend to discuss the week’s hot political news. She shared her legislative knowledge Monday with WTSB Radio listeners, and she returns to that station for a longer interview today. Both the Manteo Coastland Times and Outer Banks Sentinel promoted Gray’s upcoming April 2 speech to a Kill Devil Hills Tea Party group. Charlotte-area radio listeners heard Meck Deck blogger Jeff Taylor join Tara Servatius on WBT this week. They discussed the high-profile trial in the murder of a UNC-Charlotte student. In other radio news, Mitch Kokai, JLF Director of Communications, joined Curtis Wright this morning on WAAV/WFNC to discuss the week’s top legislative news. Locker Room readers have noticed the blog’s new look this week. The updated Locker Room also includes new features, including reader comments. Jon Ham, Vice President for Communications, oversaw the blog’s upgrade. Ham also developed a new Locker Room user’s manual and presented a training session this week. Each of the JLF regional blogs is also undergoing a redesign. A recent High Point Enterprise article mentioned the John Locke Foundation while discussing the secrecy surrounding state incentives deals. Nationally syndicated radio host Jason Lewis mentioned JLF this week when discussing public policy think tanks across the country that examine environmental policy.
