Naturally, the statists and their tax-consuming allies declare that it would be a tragedy (you know — throwing granny off a cliff), but Cato Institute’s Chris Edwards says that it doesn’t go nearly far enough in restoring fiscal prudence, not to mention respect for the Constitution.

Imagine a terribly obese person who eats a dozen doughnuts a day announcing, “I now realize that my dietary habits are leading to disaster, so I’m going to only eat six doughnuts a day for the next few years.” That IS better than a dozen, but doesn’t solve the overeating problem.
