On Wednesday, John Hood and frequent policy opponent Chris Fitzsimon of
NC Policy Watch joined a discussion panel hosted by the Raleigh-based
Civitas Institute to discuss the group’s October poll of
North Carolina voters. Among the results is that only 40 percent of
those polled believe the state is heading in the wrong direction.
That’s vastly different from national polls showing that roughly
two-thirds of Americans think the country is headed down the wrong
track. Read Hood’s analysis here.
Hood also was interviewed by Freedom Newspapers this week for a
discussion of local elections around the state, while Joe Coletti was a
guest on WBT-AM to discuss his new Policy Report, A Citizen’s Guide to Local Spending in Charlotte. In it, Coletti noted that city
and county government spending per capita in FY 2004 was 28 percent higher than in 1994.
