There are suppositions that the imposition of term limits on Macon County planning board members is politically-motivated. The board is stacked with staunch pro-planners. Some members have been serving so long, they can’t recall when they started. Anti-planner cries for diversity are viewed as thinly-veiled attempts to get representation from their kind.* The planning board would be the only Macon County board with term limits.
*It should go without saying, but it never does, if the shoe were on the other foot, the cries would be justified. The PC term “diversity” means in plain English “worsening.”
