The Herald-Sun‘s Ray Gronberg had an interesting tidbit in a story today (emphasis added):

The follow-up session occurred the afternoon of March 29 and included Baker, Chalmers, Himan, Deputy Police Chief Ron Hodge, supervising detective Mark Gottlieb, police attorney Toni Smith and a group of officials from Duke University.

So, Duke officials were involved in meetings with city officials very early on to discuss the lacrosse rape allegations. Too bad they’re not named. Quasimodo of the LieStoppers Forum, in addition to wondering just who from Duke was at that meeting, has some other questions:

Did they acquiesce in ‘rushing’ the case?

Did they agree to cooperate?

Did they ask what evidence there was against their students?

Did they ask to be shown how a prosecution was justified?

Did they abandon their students in order to help the city with its prosecution schedule?

Did they agree not to protest, and not to publicly come to the defense of their students?

Are there any NOTES of these sessions?
