I don’t like this system. I acknowledge a natural monopoly makes more sense than having three companies building their own power plants and intermingling transmission lines. However, something is very wrong when a business is so motivated to make horrible decisions that it needs environmental organizations to butt into their executive decisions. The moral of the story is, given a free market, aspiring entrepreneurs will use their genius to co-opt enterprises deemed antagonistic rather than pouring resources into developing something better.

I know, the release of carbon particulates that will contribute a tad to the overall global temperature increase of a fraction of a degree over the next couple centuries initiates force so much worse than that of leaving people to brave a chill winter with warmth from their windmills, that a hostile takeover is justifiable.
