Short title: Whirligig Complex Fund …
SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to Wilson County the sum of sixty‑five thousand dollars ($65,000) for the 2008‑2009 fiscal year for use in planning the Whirligig Complex, which will house a statewide artisans marketing center, Eastern North Carolina Tourism Welcome Center, and meeting and exhibition space.
Reportedly, this represents Phase I in the construction of the nation’s first Whatchamacallit TransPark!*
In addition to the Whirligig Complex, the WTP will also house the Doodad Center, something called Gizmo Place, the Thingamabob Museum, the Doohickey Exhibition Space, and the Heckizthat Building-Thingy.
* Sure, scoff now, but 18 years from now when the WTP lands its first FlapDoodle factory, you know you’ll want to be first in line to buy the commemorative shirt at the Geegaw Gift Shop!
