The House stands in recess this week, while the Senate remains in session. The Senate is expected to take up several executive branch nominations today. The chamber also plans to consider an anti-human-trafficking measure (S 178), which among other provisions would create a grant program to assist state and local law enforcement in developing, improving or expanding domestic child human trafficking deterrence programs. Additionally, several Senate appropriations subcommittees have hearings scheduled this week to examine proposed fiscal 2016 appropriations, while the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee will hold a full committee hearing on state perspectives on the Obama Administration’s proposed rule limiting carbon dioxide emissions for existing power plants.
