Can you imagine if several Bush appointees turned out to have ethical problems that CNN, or any other mainstream media outlet, would let that record go unmentioned when the latest also turns out to also have ethical problems regarding their taxes?
They did it with Obama’s latest speedbump, though:
Nancy Killefer on Tuesday withdrew her nomination to become chief performance officer, a new post in President Obama’s administration, a White House spokesman told CNN.
Officials said privately the reason for the withdrawal was unspecified tax issues.
There is no mention in the story about Tim Geithner‘s tax problems. Tom Daschle’s tax problems. Bill Richardson’s grand jury problems, or Eric Holder’s sleazy role in the Marc Rich pardon.
But, not a word.
