A White House blog entry asks Americans to email them if they “get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy.” They need our help to “keep track” of all the rumors and disinformation circulating.
This initiative seems to be in response to a link posted on the Drudge Report that pieces together clips of Obama speaking favorably about single-payer health care and others admitting the public option is a Trojan horse.
So I think we should indulge the White House and send them all the links and emails we find with misinformation. (We might want to start with YouTube videos of certain Obama press conferences and town halls.)
This seems pretty ridiculous. I wonder what the White House plans to do. Do they want to reproach citizens for political speech? Quoting the President’s past remarks hardly seems like disinformation.
