Who Cries for Coyote Ugly?

Boy, Center City Partners is determined to keep Coyote Ugly from becoming a neighbor, is it not?

CCP went and flipped CMPD on the issue of a liquor permit for the bar — which would be the latest in string of bars in the old Ivey’s building. Ten days ago CMPD had no reason to oppose a permit, now it wants to “study” it. Lovely.

And another Uptown powerhouse — the law firm of Parker Poe, another Tryon St. neighbor — has an attorney networked into the opposition to Coyote Ugly.

In short, either someone tells the Charlotte city council that it is gonna get sued for essentially outlawing a legal use of the space or Center City Partners is gonna win again. I seriously doubt that happens.
