I’ve stayed out of the great Mecklenburg County Sheriff implosion the past several weeks because it has been very amusing to watch the Democratic Party leadership twist in the wind over this Nick Mackey character.
Now it seems that no one — including the Uptown paper of record — can tell up from down. Despite a vaunted “background check” on Mackey the paper missed 2003 stories in their own archives about the man. Seems they were looking for “Nick Mackey” and not “N. Mackey.”
As a public service, let’s note that the Secretary of State lists T & N Therapeutic Services, LLC as having “Mackey, Nikita Vidal” as its registered agent. No clue what the company does, just that it was formed last year.
Then there are Mackey’s property transactions in the county, which include one as “Nakita Vidal Mackey.” More evidence that you need to do wildcard searches, people.
