Who sets the school tax?

There’s some controversy down in Davidson County over who has more influence in setting the school supplemental tax —- the Lexington City Council or the Lexington Board of Education.

The controversy came about when the City Council wanted to give Lexington residents a tax break, which in turn meant —-heaven forbid—– the schools got less money.
