Europe is buzzing about news that the U.S. Secret Service was bugging Lady Diana’s phones at the time she died. Funny, though. Not one story mentions that Bill Clinton was president at the time this happened. Now, imagine if revelations showed that the Reagan administration had bugged a Brit. Do you think the administration in office at the time would have gone unmentioned? Also strange is that the Associated Press apparently has not run a word on this story. All they’ve run, as far as I can find is yesterday’s story about the driver of Diana’s car being drunk and last week’s story about an open inquest.

As one commenter on the Daily Mail site points out, it’s interesting that while George Bush has gotten hammered for spying on terrorists, Bill Clinton gets a pass for spying of Britain’s royal family.
