I’ll be handing over cash to Whole Foods today, as CEO John Mackey continues to take fire from liberals who are outraged to learn their favorite store is run by – gasp! – a capitalist and defender of freedom, free markets, and personal responsbility. There’s now a protest effort, as this Washington Post story indicates.
From one capitalist to another, I say hang in there, Mr. Mackey. Don’t apologize. Your business is incredibly successful because you’ve put into practice your belief in capitalism, freedom, free markets, and personal responsibility. The Herald-Sun reports that, so far, Durham Whole Foods shopper don’t really seem to care much what Mr. Mackey thinks.
