AB Tech is doing a good job of training students for the jobs of tomorrow. Their latest catalog features a new Sustainability Technologies Degree with training from the Global Institute for Sustainability Technologies. It will train a workforce for green technologies for green collar jobs at green businesses.
New classes in the field of Occupational Training include “Train the Trainer,” “Event and Meeting Planning and Certification” and “Elements of Sustainable Land Development.” There are lots of classes for inspections and licensing. The Small Business Center offers for free courses in “Doing Business with the Government,” “Gearing up for Economic Recovery,” “Federal and State Tax Breaks for Buying Green in Your Business and Home,” “How to Start a Nonprofit,” “How to Successfully Position Your Weatherization Business,” and how to get loans from the US Small Business Administration. Duke University will be offering courses on nonprofit management on the Enka Campus. As part of Minority Enterprise Development Week, a course in “Government Procurement Opportunities” will be offered. The Quality Program has six offerings to better equip the collective human resource for following through with Incumbent Workforce Training grants from the state, which are sometimes stimulated with federal dollars.
Another course is entitled, “Where Does All My Money Go?”
