The words “regulatory review” might cure your latest case of insomnia.

But regulatory review can help ensure that federal government proposals with high costs and few benefits never see the light of day. That’s the case economist and longtime Environmental Protection Agency official Allen Basala made today during his presentation to the John Locke Foundation’s Shaftesbury Society.

Without regulatory review, we might never know about an air quality program in the Atlanta area that seemed to have little benefit, as Basala explains in the clip below.
