I once worked with a woman who complained that her work hours interfered with other things she needed to do. The first time she told me this, I laughed and told her that’s the downside of having a job. But she kept it up, and one day I suggested she look for a position that better suited her lifestyle. She told me she shouldn’t have to do that — that our employer should be willing to change her hours. I was reminded of this incident when I read this story about UNC housekeepers.
