Apex is giving away permits to remodel homes instead of charging $250, but the N&O story says, “Taxpayers will lose an estimated $21,000 in permit revenue during the town’s three-month ‘Home Improvement Holiday.'”
I am sure Toby Coleman did not mean to suggest that taxpayers directly benefit from higher taxes and fees, but it still made me choke, especially when the paper’s editorial page wants more taxes.
