At the State Policy Network session entitled, ?Beyond Blogs: Emerging Technologies to Advance Your Message,? Mary Katherine Ham of Townhall.com and daughter of JLF’s Jon Ham answers that question.

She says, “I get to cut loose a little bit…I am from North Carolina. I write a little bit like a redneck.” She points out that traditional journalism does not allow for the kind of free expression that blogs offer, even encourage. More importantly, blogs allow organizations, especially think tanks, to connect past research or commentary to the news cycle.

Of course, the highlight of her talk was this:

?My father is a think tanker in North Carolina at the John Locke Foundation. He just started three blogs, and I swear I listen to my father more than I used to.?
