That’s a good question, regarding the negative view of America and its policies apparent in much of Europe and the rest of the world. But another good question is ?why do they love us??, when talking about many other countries. The BBC recently commissioned a poll that’s worth looking at, in part because of the findings about countries where a plurality, and in many cases a majority, of respondents said the United States was a positive influence in the world. Some examples:
Philippines-85 percent positive
Nigeria-76 percent positive
Afghanistan-72 percent positive
Kenya-65 percent positive
Tanzania-63 percent positive
Poland-62 percent positive
South Africa-49 percent positive
India-44 percent positive
It’s weirder than you think ? some of these countries also have positive views about China. And then there’s Spain, which has a plurality of positive views about China but a plurality of negative views about the U.S.
