I’ve always thought Sarah Palin would never run for president because of the effect running, and especially winning, would have on her family. A lifetime of Secret Service protection is a real drag, and especially so for a family that loves its freedom to camp, hunt and travel.
But after five days of media lies, unfair speculation, blogger demonization, Twitter death threats, and editorial page castigation, I think she’ll run just to protect herself and her family. In the climate that the left and the media have created, a full retinue of Secret Service protection is a must. It’s only a matter of time before some lefty nutcase decides to act on what CNN, the networks, Andrew Sullivan, Paul Krugman, Chris Matthews, and most editorial cartoonists are saying about her.
If that were to happen, what do you think the media spin would be? I think we know. It would be HER fault.
