Houseboats may soon be banned on Fontana Lake. There are many. They have been there for decades. People who live in houseboats believe they are being victimized by TVA cutbacks. Reasons cited include saving costs of compliance by eliminating the need for wastewater analysis, enforcement, and paperwork processing. Residents also speculate the people in the big houses on the hillside may not enjoy the way the houseboats look. Then again, the residents don’t pay taxes.
