Hey, and it is not just me wondering.
The proposed new noise ordinance surely seems to put the interests of residents living near bars and restaurants ahead of live music, essentially banning the projection of sound outside a venue if the venue is near residential areas. Also the Uptown Amphitheater seems to be a target of limits both on the numbers of events it can have and the overall sound level.
I thought that the entire point of mixed-use, high-density development is that you’d encourage nightlife, not ban it. I would love to know who drafted this language.
