Here is an article from the St. Louis Post/Dispatch on a recent election at a hospital in the area. The nurses could vote to keep their current union, the United Food and Commercial Workers, switch to a different union (Service Employees International) or have no union representation. The results: a landslide win for no union, and out of all the votes cast, just two nurses wanted to retain the UFCW.

Naturally, union spokesmen are complaining about how the hospital “manipulated” the nurses, but they’re all intelligent adults, perfectly able to weigh the merits of continuing with the familiar status quo of having union representation or of dumping it.
