New research shows that 30 minutes of moderate activity a day
(like a two-mile walk) five days a week can add up to 3.7 years to a
person’s life–remarkably similar to life expectancy losses attributed to obesity. This fits with the message of Paul Campos, Glen Gaesser, and Steven Blair, and even the CDC.

The Washington Post story went on: “[Physical activity also] has been shown to improve overall well-being, reduce stress and
depression, and cut the risk of Alzheimer’s and other forms of
dementia, several experts said.”
