Cone thinks it’s funny that Freedom’s Watch’s “non-profit status, which allows it to discuss issues but not candidates, precludes any mention of Liddy Dole but allows frequent mention of her opponent.”

Now let’s turn to Elizabeth Edwards’ ’round table discussion’ on health care. It was OK for Edwards to use inflammatory language when discussing McCain’s plan, yet “participants avoided discussing Obama’s health plan, saying they did not want to risk the health center’s nonprofit status by endorsing one candidate or the other.”

But a critical discussion of Obama’s health plan wouldn’t constitute an endorsement, would it? I guess that just wasn’t going to happen.

This stuff works both ways.
