In this column, Timothy Carney argues that many would and that it is the approach Republicans should embrace if they want to win.
Carney also mentions that libertarian populism has been declared “bunk” by that great fount of wisdom, Paul Krugman. Sadly, Carney doesn’t debate Krugman’s arguments — but that’s only because Krugman doesn’t offer any. He admits that he doesn’t bother to read his intellectual adversaries and expects his devotees to take his pronouncements ex cathedra.
