WRAL-TV, owned by liberal moneybags Jim Goodmon, and The News & Observer, reported that Tariq Taylor, who shot three people at a Food Lion in Wendell on Wednesday, has been found, apparently dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
But here’s what they didn’t tell you: Taylor was one of 20 people arrested at Occupy Raleigh protest at the Capitol on Oct. 15.
As blogger Bob Owens notes, there is no reason to think that the shootings had anything to do with Occupy Raleigh, but just imagine if a Tea Partier had gone on a shooting rampage 18 months ago when the Tea Party movement was at its height. Do you think the major media would have left that affiliation out of their stories? Not a chance.
WRAL, at the bottom of its story, even noted that Taylor had been arrested for trespass on Oct. 15, but left out the venue and the circumstances. The N&O didn’t even mention the arrest, much less the Occupy Raleigh connection.
Anyone who thinks this is just a coincidence, and that the media in question just were ignorant of that connection, is deluding themselves. WRAL’s Goodmon famously said last year that the problem with journalism was that it was “too balanced.” Well, he took care of that, didn’t he?
