John Boyle at the Asheville Citizen-Times has learned the name of the secret project, for which the Buncombe County Commissioners wished to purchase 137 acres of land on Ferry Road for $6.8 million, is Project Bravo IV. Googling the name reveals Cramerton, Gaston, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Duluth, Spartanburg, and central Virginia have all been entertaining an economic development proposal by that name, and those who identify the nature of the project all say it has to do with the expansion of a major craft brewer. At least, if they are all the same Project Bravo IV with the same nondisclosure agreement, Buncombe County is keeping its part of the deal.
