Let me get this straight:

The N&R print edition of the Inside Scoop reports that Guilford County Commissioner Skip Alston is urging GCS not to leave school construction up to the voters:

Certificates of participation, a type of loan that doesn’t require taxpayer approval, could be a good option, Alston said at a meeting betyween the two boards last week.

“Y’all should fight just as hard for your kids as (Guilford County Sheriff) BJ Barnes is fighting for this jail. If y’all don’t, then shame on y’all.

All the while Alston has been urging that, if the county does indeed need a new jail, the proposal be placed on a bond referendum for citizens to approve. If anything, and I repeat if anything, should be placed on a bond referendum, it’s school construction.
